Greenhouse monitoring and intelligent control at a growing base

56 greenhouses, each with air-quality sensing, soil sensing and a control cabinet; vents, roller blinds and quilts remotely controlled, with video onboarded

Project overview

Chuanlu Modern Agriculture Picking Garden in Dafeng, Jiangsu, brought 56 greenhouses onto one monitoring and control system. Each house has an air-quality instrument for temperature, humidity, illuminance and carbon dioxide, and an enhanced soil sensor for moisture, temperature and NPK. Each house has a greenhouse control cabinet with 12 I/O channels, a 10-inch screen and an emergency button, for remote control of vents, roller blinds and quilts. Limit switches cap the travel so the pull does not damage the gear. Video joins the same platform, so environment and picture can be checked together.

On site

Main functions delivered

  1. Air: live temperature, humidity, illuminance and carbon dioxide in each house
  2. Soil: moisture, temperature and NPK captured per house
  3. Remote control: vents, blinds and quilts start and stop on the cabinet screen or remotely
  4. Travel limits: motion stops at the end of travel so the pull does not damage the gear; an emergency button cuts locally
  5. Video: in-house cameras sit with environment and control in one view

The problem

There are many houses and people cannot be in each one. Air and soil only show up by walking in. Vents, blinds and quilts are pulled on site, and over-travel damages the gear. What is happening inside cannot be reviewed on demand.

What we connected

  • Air temperature, humidity, illuminance and carbon dioxide
  • Soil moisture, temperature and NPK
  • Remote vents, roller blinds and quilts, with limit switches
  • Greenhouse control cabinets and video

What we did

  • One set per house: air quality, soil sensing and the control cabinet install together, so data and actions stay with that house
  • Vents, blinds and quilts use the cabinet I/O; limit switches sit at both ends of travel
  • The 10-inch screen and emergency button are for people on site; remote start/stop is only under permission
  • Video and environment share a screen so the real state inside the house can be checked

How it was rolled out

  1. Confirm house count, vent, blind and quilt circuits, and existing cameras
  2. Fit one or two houses first and check air, soil data and stop-on-limit
  3. Then copy to the remaining houses and bring video onto the same platform

Outcome

  • Air and soil in all 56 houses can be checked per house
  • Vents, blinds and quilts can be controlled remotely and stop at the end of travel
  • In-house video can be checked against environment data
